Title:  Yellow Belly End

By: Philip Bacon

A yellow canary sits by a cliff taking records of animal suicides he witnesses unemotionally, until one day a cat approaches the cliff carrying a briefcase. The canary scares the cat who runs away leaving the case behind. Curiosity leads the yellow canary to inspect the case and he finds that an attempted murder has taken place on his cliff.

Yellow canary is forever changed by what he has seen and wonders if he can go on living. When he meets a cow, who is also interested in recording suicides, the two realise that their time has come. They step of the cliff into death.

Yellow canary is a quiet meditation on death and suffering. It’s the sort of short that silences the mind and leaves you in a state of reflective pause for hours after.
