Hi, how ya doing?
I’m Paul Harrison, owner and author of Arolemodel.com and this is a highly self-centric piece of writing about myself.
What would you like to know? Who I am, you say? Thanks for asking. I’m a 30 year old guy currently in Oxfordshire UK. I’m one of those guys who likes to think. . . a lot. Mostly I think about self improvement, art and entertainment and the joining forces of those three elements.
Looking around the site you can probably tell that I’m very much into the arts. I’m a pianist, an actor and a writer and I’ve practiced / had formal training in a variety of arts, from music to dance to acting to poetry and beyond. I work both as an actor and as a journalist for printed publications here in the UK, and outside of that my life revolves around self improvement, personal development and playing games!
I like to think that my rather diverse education has set me up uniquely to bring together arts, entertainment and self improvement and I’m very passionate about this subject. I genuinely believe that in the future these three forces will come together, such that we no longer just “sit in front the TV” but watch wisely chosen programs that we know will benefit us in real life. Watching Eastenders, are you? That’s probably in order to strengthen your sense of being socially connected. Playing Call of Duty? Me too! That’s because I need to stop thinking and start living in the moment, which is one of the main benefits of shooting games.
I hope you can see where I’m going with this. There is a reason we go to the movies, play games, listen to music etc. There is something we get from the arts and entertainment we enjoy, something we need because we do not get it in real life (for instance, people who like big guns in games often feel powerless, or at least not as powerful as they would like to be, in real life. By understanding why we need entertainment, what we get from it and how we get it we come to learn a great deal about ourselves and that information can be used to empower us in real life. So; I guess it’s my quest to discuss this new understanding of arts and entertainment, and hopefully in doing so I manage to inspire a few people along the way.
Hmmm. . . I’m not really sure what else to say about myself! Urmmmm. . . I like cookies. . . oh and snuggles. . . what else do you need to know?
Meh, just ask me, if you want to know anything. I’m a pretty easy guy to get hold of. You can contact me at the following places.
