It was a stellar episode of Monday Night Raw as The Rock and CM Punk faced each other in the ring. But for all the greatness The Rock bought, he made one thing clear: without the WWE he’d be forgotten.
The Rock doing what he does best on Monday Night RAW
Have you ever questioned why The Rock continues to come back to WWE every now and then, often enough to be fresh in the memory but not often enough to be a true part of the show? It isn’t because he loves the WWE nor because he loves the WWE fans (congratulations to anyone with their head deep enough in fairytale land to believe that tripe, by the way). No, it’s because without the WWE, the jabroni beating, pie eating, highflying, electrifying, elbow droppin, spine poppin, eyebrow raising, peoples champ would be FORGOTTEN.
Why would he be forgotten? Simple. Because for all his entertaining and all his raising boots up asses, The Rock has one weakness: he cannot act to save his life.

How we loved the Women’s Team Gymnastics Final. How we love all our fave gymnasts (my personal faves being McKayla Maroney, Viktoria Komova, Aly Raisman, Aliya Mustafina and Gabby Douglas).
Heck, even President Obama seems to love the Fierce Five, having been photographed with McKayla Maroney doing the Maroney Face.
Yup, we all love gymnastics. And we all love to rewatch the gymnastics final. That’s why Anna Burns has put together this brilliant video tribute, backed by the music of Adele’s Skyfall.
Enjoy the video below, or, if you prefer, enter the Gymnastics Gallery HERE.

Jessica Ennis comes top of our list of the best picks for BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2012!
So, why is Jessica Ennis number one. . . ?
If there is one athlete who had the weight of the country on her shoulders at the beginning of the year, then it’s Jessica Ennis.
The poster child of London 2012, Jessica Ennis was expected to win. Now, I don’t know about you, but the idea of having an entire country expecting you to win a gold medal in one of the toughest Olympic events seems pretty damn terrifying to me. Yet somehow, Jessica Ennis went out and completely obliterated the competition. She looked like a freaking machine on the track.
The only problem with Jessica Ennis this year is that she won her gold medal too easily. The final event in the women’s heptathlon was a bit of an anti-climax because really, she’d already won. Unfortunately, this makes Jessica Ennis' achievement a little less memorable than other entrants on this list.

Continuing our countdown of the best pick for BBC Sports Personality of the Year we come to Andy Murray and Bradley Wiggins.
BBC Sports Personality of the Year Pick #3: Andy Murray:
If this were Sports Personality Development of the year, Andy Murray would win hands down.
Who even knew that Andy Murray had a personality prior to 2012?! Before this year, Murray seemed like a grumpy Scottish git. Sure, he was supported by fans in both England and Scotland, but only because he was seen as being the one blooming chance for us to actually win Wimbledon.
Then came 2012 and that Wimbledon final which made Andy Murray who he is today. Who could forget the sheer emotion Andy Murray showed? Sure, he may have lost the match, but his personality achieved an important victory that day. That was the day Andy Murray transformed before the public eye. It was a truly touching sporting moment.
Murray needed to be defeated at Wimbledon. Defeat cut through that tough exterior of Andy Murray Read more [...] BBC Sports Personality of the Year: Andy Murray and Bradley Wiggins

It’s one heck of an accomplishment to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year in the average twelve months of sport. But this year, when so much has happened in British sport, is an altogether different challenge.
What other year has contenders as closely pegged as Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis, Bradley Wiggins, David Weir and co.? Any of the contenders in this years BBC Sports Personality of the Year would be worthy winners. Making this list of the top five sports personalities has been no mean feat. But after much head scratching, here’s my pick of the top five contenders.
The Top Five Sports Personalities of the Year
Pick #5 : David Weir
It is, naturally, important for the BBC to recognise paralympians as well as Olympians in the Sports Personality of the Year award. And of all the many paralympians worthy of winning the award, David Weir tops the list.
With four wins (TS4 marathon, 5000m, 1500m and 800m) wheelchair athlete David Weird was one of Britain’s most successful Read more [...] Top Picks for Sports Personality of the Year, with Ennis, Farah, Wiggins and More

FINALLY. It has finally happened. We've waited so many years for this night and Andy Murray has DONE IT! Murray wins the US Open against Novak Djokovic in one of the greatest tennis finals of all time.

Apparently, however, Andy Murray isn't quite as happy about the win as the rest of Britain. He barely smiled after winning, and in this press interview he practically looks dejected.

If you love Vitkoria Komova as much as I do, then you're bound to love this new music video and tribute to her. It highlights some of her best moments.
The video also hits on an extremely interesting point. It says that the only reason that Viktoria Komova is not number one yet is because she does not believe in herself. I for one have to agree with that 100%. Komova, for me, is the best of all women gymnasts. But her mentality needs to change. She needs to learn to be a lot more accepting of herself and believe in herself. And that is a message that speaks to a lot of us. It's easier to see the difference self belief can make in an athlete, when it's there on the floor, but self belief is absolutely imperative to every one of us, not just to athletes.
If you want to learn to believe in yourself more you can do so here: The Value of Believing in Yourself

Since they returned from London 2012, the members of the Fierce Five have been touring virtually everywhere in the USA, from talk shows to the New York Stock Exchange and, of course, the VMAs. All that might be about to change, however, as two members of the group, McKayla Maroney and Aly Raisman, have been injured during the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions 2012.

Both Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney were injured during their uneven bar routines. Maroney (who won silver on women's fault in london 2012) was carried out by medics after an awkward fall and Raisman (who won gold on floor) hurt her knee landing on concrete after her dismount.
Here's what one blogger had to say about the incident:

It’s happened. The secret to making Survivor Series 2012 the best ever has been found. The idea—genius, really, if I do say so myself—is to make Survivor Series 2012 and all subsequent Survivor Series genuinely about survival.
Make WWE Survivor Series What it was Born to Be
Think back, if you will fellow WWE fans, over the past few years and answer me one question. What has been the most memorable moment in wrestling over those years?
There’s a very good chance that your pick of a memorable moment involved a retirement. Over the past few years the WWE has said goodbye to Ric Flair in an amazing match VS Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 24. We’ve seen the surprise ending of Edge. Undertaker put Shawn Michaels into retirement in the main event at Wrestlemania 26, and right now the biggest story in the WWE is about HHH’s yes / no / maybe retirement.
Retirement has become the emotional backbone of the WWE. But really, it’s not retirement that gets us all Read more [...]
