It can be hard to know how to tell if a shy guy like you. Shy guys act differently to other guys, so when you’re trying to work out how they feel about you need to take a slightly different approach. This guide to how to tell if a shy guy likes you is the key to discovering how he truly feels about you.
How to tell if a shy guy likes you
1. Don’t outright ask him or his friends: First thing’s first; the wrong way how to tell if a shy guy likes you is to ask him or his friends. Shy guys aren’t comfortable about sharing their feelings, or about the idea of other people knowing about their feelings. This means you can’t just outright ask a shy guy if he likes you. Doing so will make him feel uncomfortable and will likely lead to him becoming even shyer.
You also cannot ask his friends. Privacy is very important top shy guys. If he finds out that you’ve been asking about him behind his back (whether your intentions are good or not) he’ll likely be offended. He will also feel very uncomfortable with both his friends and with you. Naturally, this means you need to be a lot more subtle.
2. Watch the shy guy’s body language: The best way how to tell if a shy guy likes youShy guys don’t communicate much with words, but thankfully their body language says a great deal. For a complete guide to shy guy body language read this guide to reading a shy guy’s body language.
3. Compare how he acts around you to other people: If a shy guy like you he will act differently around you than he does around other people. You mind find that when you’re around he becomes more nervous, quieter, irritable etc. Essentially, if he treats you differently to how he treats everyone else, he feels differently about you and probably does like you.
4. Does he look at you a lot? The easiest way how to tell if a shy guy likes you is to see if he looks at you a lot. Because shy guys feel unable to express themselves openly, they choose rather to admire you secretly. If a shy guys like you he will steal glances at you. If he does look at you, don’t make a big issue out of it. Just smile back.
5. Does he never look at you? Shy guys can be so shy that they simply cannot look at a person they like at all. They’re too afraid that you will know how they are feeling. Try to notice if he doesn’t mind looking at other girls but will never look at you. If this is the case, he’s probably a) very shy and b) attracted to you
6. How does he speak to you? Another great way how to tell if a shy guy likes you is to see how he speaks to you. Most people feel a little nervous talking to someone they like. Shy guys, however, become a nervous wreck when speaking to girl they like. If the likes you, you may find he either speaks in very short, snappy replies or that he rambles on and on out of panic. Both of these are signs that he is attracted to you
7. Ask a favour: One great way how to tell if a shy guy likes you is to ask him to do a favour. Make it a trivial favour. For instance, you could ask him to help you with your work / homework. This gives him a very relaxed way to get a little closer to you. Provided he doesn’t suspect that you’re trying to work him out, he will jump at the opportunity to be around you. It should go without saying that you shouldn’t take advantage of his willingness to help you out
8. Does he try to make friends with your friends: Because a shy guy doesn’t feel comfortable approaching you directly, he’ll approach indirectly: through your friends. You may find that he is starting to talk a lot to your friends (male or female). If he happens to start talking to a female friend, don’t become jealous: he’s probably only talking to her to get closer to you. Use it as an opportunity to start talking to him
9. Chat online: An alternative way how to tell if a shy guy likes you is to jump online. Some (but not all) shy guys are only shy in person. This is especially true if he is nervous of his appearance or his voice or something else that he only reveals when speaking in person. A great way around this is to start chatting online. You might find that when he’s online, your shy guy suddenly isn’t so shy anymore.
So, now you know precisely how to tell if a shy guy likes you.
So, you want to ask your crush out and you want to do it in the bet way possible, but what is the best way to ask someone out?
there are two parts of asking someone out. The first part is actually plucking up the courage to do it. The second part is knowing how to do it.
These great tips (below) will show you both how to make yourself ask someone out and how to ask someone out successfully.
How To Ask Someone Out: Making Sure You Do It
We all get nervous about asking someone out. That’s only natural. After all, the reason we want to ask them out is because we like then a lot. That means we’re sensitive to what they think, which naturally makes us nervous. This is the same for everyone. With these tips, however, you can make sure that you do actually get around to asking your crush out.
Steps to get yourself to ask someone out
Step 1: Set a deadline for yourself. A deadline gives you a deadline time to approach the other person and start a conversation.
Step 2: Have a specific plan in mind: Pick something the person is interested in and use that to ask the person out. If they like movies, ask them to the new movie. If they like politics, ask them to a debate.
Step 3: Right down steps 1 and 2 and read them to yourself. “By FRIDAY (step 1) I have to ask X out to the new blockbuster movie (step 2)
Step 4: Add a penalty. Tell yourself, if you DONT ask the person out, you’ll punish yourself by e.g not going out this weekend.
This is the way to get yourself to ask someone out, but how do you actually do it? Here’s some advice:
How to Ask Someone Out Successfully
Asking someone Out Tip 1: Have good body language. You can find a complete guide to good body language HERE, but for this page, let’s stick to the basics: don’t slouch, don’t fidget or look nervous. Smile, stand tall and be confident.
Asking someone out tip 2: Use their name. Calling somebody by their name naturally makes them feel closer to you and helps to build intimacy. Always call people by their names.
Asking someone out tip 3: Speak clearly. When you mutter or speak quietly you sound nervous, which is not attractive and is less likely to make them want to say “Yes.” So, speak clearly and with confidence.
Asking someone out tip 4: Don’t be too harsh on yourself. While you should be aware of the three tips above, don’t stress over them. You want to appear relaxed and comfortable. That way, your crush will feel relaxed and comfortable too. So, before you ask the person out, make sure you’re as relaxed as you can be.
There can be little doubt that Eckhart Tolle is one of the most inspiring people in the world; certainly in the realms of self improvement and spirituality. In a great segment on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, Eckhart Tolle answered the question of how to stop thinking too much. This is great for many reasons: it can help you stop thinking about someone, stop thinking about food, stop thinking negative thoughts and can even get you more connected to life and to the present moment.
As Tolle explains, if you are asking the question “How to stop thinking too much,” and if you are aware of the voice in your head, you are already ahead of the game. Most people don’t realise that they themselves are creating the voice in their head. When hearing a voice in their head saying, “I must do the washing up” (for instance) most people don’t have clear presence to think “There is a voice in my head telling me to do the washing up” they simply think “I HAVE to do the washing up.” This might seem like a small difference, but it is very important. If you recognise that thoughts are just a voice in your head, then you can begin to take control.
So, how to thinking too much. . .
Eckhart Tolle continued his answer to this question with some basic practice of Vipasanna meditation.
To stop your mind, “Choose to take your attention away from thinking. Ask yourself “Can I feel the energy in my hands? There is a tingling or aliveness there. Immediately on focussing on this energy your thinking will slow down because your thoughts don’t have your attention.”
Eckhart Tolle specifies focussing on the hands here, but it doesn’t matter too much exactly what you focus on. A traditional Vipasanna meditation would have you focussing on the breath coming and going through your nose. In my experience, the exact area of focus does not matter too much. What does matter is that you take your focus away from your thoughts and instead focus on something physical. Essentially, you are taking your focus and attention away from those deceptive thoughts and placing it on something more real, something physical. This is the way how to slow your mind and how to silence the thoughts in your head.

Millions of men believe the way how to make a girl notice you is to be super fit, to be Mr Confident “alpha male” or to get a load of money so they can offer the world. There’s just one teensie-weensie problem with this ideas: they’re hard work.
If only there were some way how to make a girl notice you that was so easy you could do it with your eyes closed. Well, now there is.
How to make a girl notice you by. . . SLEEPING?!
Check this out for an amazing way how to make a girl notice you. A Swedish study has proven that getting a little sleep before you hit the town makes you significantly more attractive. The researchers who conducted the study took two photos of twenty five different people. One photo was taken after sleeping seven to eight hours a night; the other taken after only four hours sleep. They then asked 40 people to say which photo they found more attractive.
An overwhelming majority reported that the men how had had less sleep were less attractive. John Axelsson, PhD—associate professor at Stockholm University and lead project researcher—states that less sleep makes a man less attractive and makes others less likely to socialise with him.
This is just one example of the myriad ways in which nonverbal communication plays a vital role in courtship and attraction. It’s funny how many people obsess over the hard work of eating right and going to the gym every day when really, your basic appearance—your body language, energy levels etc.—are what really govern your attractiveness.
For a quick fix simply use a drop of eye cream. It’ll get rid of the bags under your eyes and leave you looking a million times better.
The fact that this little detail about the eyes makes such a big difference in attraction really shows the importance of nonverbal communication (in other words, what your body communicates through such points as body language, voice tone and other details).
Here’s an idea. If you’re thinking about hitting the gym for an hour, Don’t. Instead, read our 100% free body language course, which is written from a factual and scientific standpoint (in other words, it’s the real deal). You’ll discover a shed-load of vital information you might not know yet.

In this article you’ll learn how to overcome stress and anxiety with an easy and very effective exercise.
Stress and anxiety are two issues that the vast majority of people have to face at one point or another in their lives. Many, indeed, have to face stress and anxiety over and over again. Finding a solution that is compatible with your business life and family life can often seem like an insurmountable task, but worry no more for Arolemodel.com is about to present a very simply and very effective tool for overcoming stress and anxiety that you can begin to use in as little as ten minutes. What’s best is that once you get used to this tool you will be able to perform it anywhere you may be, even whilst in a board meeting.
This exercise, which I call Cleaning your Vision is based around the fact that ninety-percent of our idea of “reality” is based on personal bias and self deception.
NOTE: If you already know about personal bias then feel free to skip to the “How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety” exercise below; otherwise continue to read this.
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety
We have in our minds a personal map of the world, a map which is based largely on memory and associations. For instance, the very word “stress” will mean different things to different people based upon their associations to the word. For some, “stress” is a particular type of headache that is associated with staring at the computer screen too long and damaging their eyes. For others, “stress” means a struggle to deal with emotional complications, which may be the case for those in abusive relationships, for example. There are a million specific things “stress” could mean because the word itself is ambiguous. The only thing about which we can be certain is that we do have some definition in our minds about the word “stress.” Our definitions may be different, but we all have a definition of the word.
There are two very important lessons that can be learned from this. First of all, we know that we naturally and automatically, without thinking, create definitions, be it of words, of events (we might see cleaning the car as a chore; others might see it as a pleasure) of people (your enemy might be my friend), of everything. Equally importantly, we know that our definitions are not accurate; they are simply one personally-biased view of an event. And this is true of our stresses and anxieties: they are just one very narrow and very biased view of a situation.
A lot of people reading that sentence above, about stress and anxiety being nothing but a personal view of a situation, will have scoffed. “But I am losing my job,” one person might say; another, “I did breakup with my boyfriend” and so on. It can be extremely hard to recognise the fact that we create our own realities, especially when it’s about something so important and so painful to us. We become so certain that our big terrible view of the situation is reality itself that we begin to shape everything to that image. If we have lost our jobs, we don’t just think “I’m jobless” but “I failed. I’m going to struggle to pay the rent. The family / partner / other will think I’ve let them down” and so on and so on. We begin to live in a reality shaped by our negative and false view of a situation.
What we need to do at these times is to separate ourselves from our false-negative impression of the situation so that we can reconnect with the actual reality of the situation and get back on the right track, carrying on with our lives.
This exercise will allow you to quickly differentiate your false-negative perceptions of a situation from reality and in so doing will enable you to overcome your stress and anxiety.
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety: Cleaning your Vision
When you begin to use this exercise you will need to do it in a dark and silent room, but when you get used to it and understand the process you will be able to perform it successfully wherever you may be.
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety Step 1
Begin by lying or sitting down comfortably and focussing on your breath (as you would do in meditation, for those who meditate). Simply focus on your breath coming and going as you lie in silence.
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety Step 2
Take a moment to recognise the fact that you are sitting in complete silence and in the dark. This is important as it will allow you to recognise the fact that anything that happens in your mind during the process is of your own creation and is a part of you yourself (because there is nothing else in the room or around you).
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety Step 3
Having recognised that anything that happens in the dark room is of your own creation, slowly and gently bring your attention to the thing about which you are suffering stress and anxiety. Your aim is to see the reality of the situation. If it is a breakup, for instance, imagine that you are alone in a place you would normally be with your ex and try to accept this image for what it is, without negative thoughts. To give another example; if you have lost your job, imagine being in an interview for a new job and being totally comfortable in that situation.
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety Step 4
Every time a negative thought / image comes to mind, remind yourself that you are in a dark and completely silent room and anything that happens is of your own creation. Any stress or anxiety is the creation of your own mind. Recognising this fact and owning your stress and anxiety as your own will give your power and control over it.
How to Overcome Stress and Anxiety Step 5
Each time you are successfully able to say to yourself “this is of my creation and I am in control of it” after feeling stress or anxiety, reset the situation by returning to the first step of this process.
As you can see, this is a clarifying process. You are progressively realising that your negative view of the situation is of your own creation, that it is not reality and that you can change or remove the way you think / feel about the situation. The more you do this the more control you will have and the more you will be able to overcome stress and anxiety.

Real Life Benefits of Watching A Dangerous Method
- Enlightens viewers as to the complexity of human emotion
- Offers an engaging and entertaining (if not entirely accurate) account of the development of theories of psychoanalysis.
A Dangerous Method Film Review
A Dangerous Method is David Croenenberg’s intellectual biopic of Freud, Jung and the birth of psychoanalysis. Brilliant performances by Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen bring the characters of Freud and Jung to life very believably and despite its grindingly slow pace, the stunning costumes, set design and presentation of the movie make it a worthwhile investment of your time. It also features the best performance of keira Knightley’s career, though, sadly, that isn’t saying a lot.
A Dangerous Method Plot Summary:
On the eve of World War I, Zurich and Vienna are the setting for a dark tale of sexual and intellectual discovery. Drawn from true-life events, “A Dangerous Method” takes a glimpse into the turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung, his mentor Sigmund Freud and Sabina Spielrein, the troubled but beautiful young woman who comes between them. Into the mix comes Otto Gross, a debauched patient who is determined to push the boundaries. In this exploration of sensuality, ambition and deceit set the scene for the pivotal moment when Jung, Freud and Sabina come together and split apart, forever changing the face of modern thought.

“I ran across this quote a few days ago: The art of love … is largely in the art of persistence. Albert Ellis said it. And it is sticking in my mind, sticking to it in much the same way oatmeal sticks to your ribs. At first I thought of writing, how it is an act of love and how persistence is such a huge part of that love. . .
Then I extrapolated … what of my love for my children? How much of loving them was/is persistence? The moment they were settled into my arms after birth, I melted. I thought my heart would explode, I was in such awe, but then there were days. You know the ones. Those tests of love days. I would think: I am going to lose ithere! I would go into the bathroom, shut the door and sit on the closed toilet lid and I would talk myself down, return to the fray, mete out whatever discipline was required. When everyone was calm again, we talked about what happened. It was an act of love, but wasn’t it also an act of persistence?
You fight with your spouse, you walk away and come back, talk it out. Isn’t that persistence? Love is like a visitor knocking on your door, persistently knocking until you open it and allow in the flood of inspiration, revelation, joy … the treasure that is there, that is inside you. We recognize that in each other and we persist in every way we can to connect with each other. We persist in loving one another, and our work, if we’re fortunate in that regard and often it is in the face of what seem to be insurmountable odds.”
If you like the way Barbara Taylor Sissel writes (as well a the wisdom she expresses in this post) you will most likely be interested in reading her digital book The Last Innocent Hour, available on Kindle. Here is a synopsis. . .
