The idea of there being a sequel to Waterworld—Hollywood’s biggest box office bomb ever—has been discussed on and off for years. The most recent of those stories came last month after 400,000 viewers watched an airing of Waterworld on TV.

Recognising the value of Waterworld’s idea and plot, Syfy recently announced that a remake or sequel would be possible. And now, thanks to our sources, we can confirm that Syfy are indeed working with Universal on a remake of Waterworld.
