Nintendo have announced the Wii U release date in Japan and the price. Wii U will come in two bundles with two different price points.
The Nintendo Wii U will launch in Japan on 8th December in two packages: white and black. The white version will cost ¥26,250 (£209) and features an 8GB hard drive, while the black version boasts an impressive 32GB hard drive and will sell at ¥31,500 (£251).
With this pricing, Nintendo will be making Christmas merry for both shoppers on a budget and those wanting to shell out for the real deal.
So far, two potential launch titles have been revealed: New Super Mario Bros. U and NintendoLand.
A full launch line-up is likely to be revealed at press conferences in Europe and North America this Thursday afternoon.
The Wii U will mark an important moment in Nintendo’s life. Having posted their first annual losses in their thirty years history earlier this year, Nintendo will need the Wii U to perform well when it hits shelves.
The success or failure of the Wii U will almost certainly be determined by the games available at launch. The 3DS was hit hard by its lack of games. It’s imperative that Nintendo don’t make the same mistake twice.
