The excitement and risk of student / teacher relationships makes them attractive, especially in a work or school environment, but also makes them hard to initiate because of the need to remain hidden. Amazingly, despite great effort to keep these relationships hidden, couples normally always fail, being discovered by co-workers or other students / teachers who then feel betrayed for having been kept in the dark.
For the teacher / student relationship to work it is often necessary for one member of the relationship to remove themselves from the professional relationship in order to continue the personal one. In other words, either the teacher or the student or one of the two co-workers need to leave their position at the school / workplace to stay with their partner.
