The Three Matches to Make Wrestlemania 29 the Best Ever

If I’d written this a couple of weeks ago, I would have said that there were three matches that could save the WWE. But frankly, the quality of Summerslam was so high that it’s far from in need of any saving. The only question remaining is how to take the quality of Summerslam and ramp it up even higher. The question is: how to make Wrestlemania 29 the greatest Wrestlemania of all time.

There are three matches that could make Wrestlemania 29 the best ever. They’re the kind of matches a wrestling fan dreams about. They’re three matches which would go down as the greatest of all time. Ladies and gentlemen. .  .

The Three Matches Wrestlemania 29 and the WWE Universe are Crying Out For

CM Punk VS Stone cold Steve Austin

There are so many reasons this match would be earth shattering. First off, the Metlife Stadium will literally shudder with the amount of attitude this match would bring. No one does attitude like CM Punk.  . .well, maybe one person: Stone Cold Steve Austin. Secondly, these guys of two of the best wrestlers of all time. Their in-ring performances are amazing. Watching this match, for a wrestling fan, would be the equivalent of sitting beside Beethoven’s piano as he wrote the fifth symphony.

Just image the site of CM Punk sitting crossed-legged in the ring as Wrestelmania 29, followed by the sound of the glass breaking. Oh. My. God.

John Cena VS The Rock: Round

This fight cries out for a rematch so damn loudly it’s deafening. Wrestlemania 28, let’s be totally honest, was kinda pants. It was one of the worst Wrestlemanias in years, and the match between The Rock and John Cena–which should have been awesome–was utterly ruined by the abysmal musical performances which preceded it (though to be fair, calling that tripe “music” is like comparing Vicky Guerrero to Maria Callas). The decision to have The Rock win was a highly questionable one too. .  . but to prevent argument, let’s ignore that side of the equation. The simple reality is that it feels like Wrestlemania 28 was something of a cliffhanger. There needs to be a rematch between The Rock and John Cena, and it needs to happen at Wrestlemania 29.
