Why Ladies Love Daniel Craig and Skyfall’s James Bond

Women love James Bond. That’s as true for Sean Connery and From Russia with Love’s James Bond as it is for Daniel Craig and Skyfall’s James Bond. Women adore 007. He is the ultimate role model for being an attractive guy. And for any man with open eyes, he’s also a guide to getting women.

Now, before we get into why James Bond is so attractive, let me address one thing. Most men and women would say that James Bond is attractive just because he’s James Bond. He’s a fictional character so the rules are different, right?

Wrong.

The idea that the rules are different for fictional characters than for real people is perhaps the biggest misconception we have of fiction. At some point in time we all began to believe that fictional characters can simply be made attractive, that a character can be whatever they want to be because they’re not real.

In reality, a fictional character can only be what you see them as being. A fictional character stops being fictional the second they enter your brain.

In our brains, we have models of what an attractive person is; models of what a cool, smart, friendly, cute or any other kind of person is. If someone matches our model for attractiveness, we will consider them attractive. If not, we won’t. This is a psychological rule governing how we perceive people, and it’s exactly the same for fictional characters as it is for real people.
The reason women love James Bond is not because he is attractive, but because he matches million of women’s models for an attractive guy.

What this means, when it all comes down to it, is that James Bond, real or not, is the perfect role model for any guy who wants women to consider him attractive.

So, what does James Bond teach about how to get women to consider us guys attractive? Well, it’s got little to do with shooting people and little to do with the catchphrases. It has, however, got a heck of a lot to do with the James Bond’s body language.

It was proven by Dr Mehrabian at UCLA many years ago that 93% of communication is nonverbal. And that, too, is as true for fictional characters as for real people. 83% of how we perceive someone comes from nonverbal communication. 93% of James Bond’s attractiveness, then, must also come from nonverbal communication.

But just what “nonverbal communication” do James Bond and Daniel Craig show us?
