HBK on RAW for HHH VS The Undertaker

HBK will call the HHH / Undertaker match down the middle, but could this be the end of HHH and HBK’s friendship?

This was one of the worst starts to Raw of recent times. When Shawn Michaels came to the ring we all felt confident he would bring some electricity and would take the story of HHH Vs The Undertaker up a notch, but instead The Heartbreak Kid brought a yawn fest. HBK was empty of all energy and seemed to talk a bunch of nonsense about nothing important at all. So far, the HHH / Undertaker match seems to be mostly about some childish rivalry between Shawn Michaels and HHH, with HHH accepting the match simply because he can’t handle the idea that Shawn is better than him.

The real problem with this reason for the match is that it completely undermines HHH’s character. HHH is supposed to be a man’s man, one of the toughest guys in the WWE Universe, yet he buckles under the mere suggestion that his friend HBK might be better than he is? That’s not the behaviour of a man’s man’s but a kid.

As for the idea that HBK be the referee of the match at Wrestlemania, at the moment it’s a bit of a nonentity. Shawn has reason both to favour HHH and to favour The Undertaker and so there is some drama in terms of the WWE Universe not knowing which way Shawn Michaels will go but surely this would be one match better left as a fight rather than a piece of WWE soap opera drama.
